Charlee

Charlee Queen XO is a multidisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter, poet, director, and cultural architect whose work blends music, spoken word, movement, and ritual into transformative performances. As the first rapper-poet-singer to headline the iconic Yardbird Suite, she is redefining Canada’s live music landscape.Co-Director of the Black Femme Poetry Collective and a resident artist with House of Hush Burlesque, her work celebrates self-worth, ancestral wisdom, and liberation. Through immersive performances, workshops, and original music spanning R&B, jazz, reggae, country, and spoken word, Charlee invites audiences to embody authenticity, creative freedom, and the transformative power of love.

Black Femme Poetry Collective

The Black Femme Poetry Collective is a multidisciplinary performance collective centering the voices, stories, and creative expression of Black women and femmes.
As Co-Director, performer, choreographer, and costume designer, Charlee Queen XO helps shape the collective’s artistic vision from concept to stage—developing performances, directing movement, designing costumes and visual aesthetics, and weaving poetry, music, dance, and storytelling into immersive live experiences.
Her work within the collective reflects her broader practice as a creative director: bringing artists, disciplines, and ideas together to create powerful expressions of culture, connection, and Black femme artistry.

A Rebirth

REBIRTH is Charlee Queen XO’s current artistic chapter—a body of work born from motherhood, transformation, grief, love, and the reclamation of self. Moving through music, poetry, movement, visual storytelling, and live performance, Charlee explores what happens when a woman allows an old version of herself to fall away and listens for who she is becoming. Rooted in matriarchal consciousness and ancestral remembering, REBIRTH follows her evolution from Maiden to Mother to Matriarch while documenting the deeply human process of forgetting, becoming, remembering, and returning home to herself.
